Pakistan and Saudi Arabia explore new investment opportunities, joint ventures and long-term business partnerships across key sectors.

Saudi Arabia’s business community has expressed strong interest in expanding investment and commercial activities in Pakistan, with the Board of Investment (BOI) assuring potential investors of full facilitation.

Federal Minister for Investment and BOI Chairman Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh held a meeting with a delegation from the Saudi Investment Forum to explore ways to deepen economic relations and encourage greater Saudi investment in Pakistan.

The delegation was headed by Kunwar Qutbuddin and included Pakistan Investor and Business Forum President Engr. Ghulam Safdar and Mokamela International LLC Chairman Raja Riaz. The representatives briefed the minister on the forum’s structure, objectives and growing business network.

According to the delegation, investment forums previously operating separately in Riyadh and Jeddah have been brought together under a unified platform representing Saudi Arabia. The forum now has a network of more than 400 businesses and aims to connect credible companies for commercial, investment and business-to-business opportunities.

The delegation also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s expanding position as a regional trade and investment hub. It said the platform could help develop partnerships, joint ventures and long-term cooperation between businesses in both countries.

Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said Pakistan considers its relationship with Saudi Arabia highly important and is committed to expanding economic and investment cooperation. He assured the delegation that the BOI would provide assistance to genuine Saudi investors throughout the investment process.

The minister explained that the BOI could help investors identify suitable opportunities, coordinate with government departments and address administrative challenges. He also outlined the role of Honorary Investment Counsellors in promoting Pakistan’s investment potential internationally.

Sheikh highlighted ongoing regulatory reforms aimed at improving the business climate by simplifying procedures and removing unnecessary requirements. He also pointed to the Business Facilitation Center, which provides investors with coordinated access to government departments through a single-window mechanism.

Several sectors were identified as having significant investment potential, including agriculture, information technology, mining, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, logistics, food processing and tourism.

The Saudi Investment Forum also invited the minister to participate in an upcoming investment conference. Sheikh welcomed the invitation and expressed his willingness to engage further with Saudi business leaders.

Both sides agreed that stronger coordination between the BOI and the Saudi Investment Forum could help convert business interest into concrete investment projects, joint ventures and sustainable partnerships, further strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
