Shaheen Shah Afridi produced a stunning hat-trick as Pakistan Gold bowled out Pakistan Greens for 239 in the National Champions Cup 2026 final.
Pakistan Gold captain Shaheen Shah Afridi delivered a remarkable performance in the National Champions Cup 2026 final, dismantling Pakistan Greens with a sensational seven-wicket haul at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
The left-arm fast bowler finished with outstanding figures of 7/36 from just 8.3 overs, including a dramatic hat-trick that played a decisive role in Gold’s victory. His exceptional spell also earned him the Player of the Match award.
Hat-Trick Arrives in 38th Over
Shaheen completed his hat-trick during the 38th over of the Greens’ chase. He first trapped Mehran Mumtaz lbw with a sharp delivery that swung into the batter.
The pacer then deceived Salman Mirza with a cleverly disguised slower ball. Mirza mistimed his shot, sending the ball towards Shaheen, who completed a straightforward return catch.
Shaheen sealed the hat-trick against Mohammad Hasnain with a pinpoint yorker. The delivery struck Hasnain’s leg stump, sparking celebrations from the Gold players and supporters.
Gold Bowlers Restrict Greens
Shaheen received valuable support from Mubasir Khan, Faisal Akram and fellow fast bowler Razaullah as Pakistan Gold successfully defended their imposing total.
The Greens were eventually dismissed for 239 in 37.3 overs, falling well short of the target after struggling against Gold’s disciplined bowling attack.
Saad Khan Leads Gold’s Batting
Earlier, Pakistan Gold posted a formidable 340 all out in their allotted 50 overs after Shaheen chose to bat first following the toss.
Saad Khan emerged as the leading run-scorer, producing an aggressive 112 from 102 balls. His innings featured 11 fours and four sixes and provided the foundation for Gold’s imposing total.
Shamyl Hussain also played a key role with a composed 111 from 93 deliveries, matching Saad’s impact during the innings. Muhammad Akhlaq added 31, while Abdul Samad and Mubasir Khan contributed 25 and 21 respectively.
With Shaheen’s explosive bowling completing a dominant all-round display, Pakistan Gold secured a memorable finish to the National Champions Cup 2026 final.
