Karachi, November 29, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) released its shipping activity report for Friday, providing updates on vessel movements and cargo handling to assist stakeholders.
On Thursday, seven ships, including GFS Ruby, Colombo Express, Saehan Kostar, and Ullswater, berthed at various terminals within the port. These vessels were carrying a mix of containers, palm oil, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and docked at the Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), Liquid Cargo Terminal (LCT), and Sui Southern Gas Terminal (SSGT).
In the past 24 hours, two additional ships, Lila Confidence and African Bari Bird, arrived at the outer anchorage. These vessels are loaded with palm oil and coal, respectively.
During the same period, a total of eleven ships were engaged at the berths at Port Qasim. Among these, four ships—GFS Ruby, Colombo Express, Alba Gas, and Hafnia Phoenix—departed the port on Friday morning. Additionally, three vessels, Saehan Kostar, Angelina, and Ullswater, are scheduled to set sail later in the day.
Port Qasim handled a significant cargo volume of 122,163 tonnes over the last 24 hours. This included 94,570 tonnes of imported cargo and 27,593 tonnes of export cargo. A total of 2,306 containers were processed, comprising 1,454 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of imports and 852 TEUs of exports.
Currently, 15 ships are anchored at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Out of these, five ships—Lila Confidence, Anadolu-S, Hafnia Eagle, FSM, and One Responsibility—are scheduled to take berths at the Liquid Cargo Terminal, Fauji Akbar Portia Terminal (FAP), Fauji Oil Terminal and Distribution Company (FOTCO), Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL), and QICT, respectively, on Friday. These vessels are carrying cargoes such as palm oil, soybean seed, gas oil, LPG, and containers.
