Karachi, February 2, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has unveiled the shipping activity report for Friday, February 2, 2024, providing valuable insights for stakeholders.

The bustling maritime activities at Port Qasim showcase the port’s pivotal role in facilitating diverse trade and cargo movements.

On Thursday, four ships, namely Navios Constellation, Eva Tokyo, Ullswater, and Bi Jia Shan, graced the shores of Port Qasim. These vessels, laden with Containers, Chemicals, LPG, and Coal, berthed at various terminals including Container Terminal, Engro Terminal, Sui Southern Terminal, and Bulk Terminal, respectively.

During the last 24 hours, a total of nine ships were engaged at PQA berths. Among them, two ships, Golden Curl and Eva Tokyo, departed from the port early this morning, while the containership Navios Constellation is expected to set sail later in the day.

The bustling maritime activities translated into a significant cargo volume of 115,911 tonnes. This cargo included 70,354 tonnes of import cargo and 45,557 tonnes of export cargo. A total of 3,427 containers were handled, with 1,399 TEUs dedicated to imports and 2,028 TEUs allocated for exports, underscoring the port’s efficiency in managing diverse trade flows.

As of the latest update, there are currently three ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Two of these vessels, Solar Alice and Borno, laden with Edible oil and LNG, are expected to secure berths at LCT and PGPCL on Friday, further contributing to the port’s dynamic operations.

Looking ahead, three more container ships, namely Meratus Jayakarta, APL Phoenix, and X-Press Salween, are slated to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, indicating a sustained momentum in shipping activities. These vessels are expected to enhance the port’s capacity for handling diverse cargo types, further solidifying Port Qasim’s position as a key player in Pakistan’s maritime trade landscape.

The continuous influx of ships and the handling of substantial cargo volumes underscore Port Qasim’s strategic significance in facilitating trade, promoting economic growth, and strengthening the country’s maritime infrastructure.
