Spotify Introduces Built-In Tool for Playlist Transfers

Spotify has introduced a long-awaited feature that lets users transfer playlists directly from competing music streaming services into their Spotify libraries.

While this capability has been available for years through third-party platforms, Spotify has now officially partnered with TuneMyMusic to offer a more seamless, built-in solution.

TuneMyMusic is a well-known service that helps users move playlists between various streaming platforms. Through Spotify’s new integration, this functionality is now accessible directly from within the Spotify mobile app—although it only works one way. Users can import playlists from other services into Spotify, but exporting Spotify playlists to other platforms is still not supported.

To use the feature, open the Spotify mobile app and navigate to Your Library. Scroll to the bottom and select Import your music. From there, Spotify will guide you through connecting to TuneMyMusic. Once connected, simply choose the music service where your existing playlists are stored, select the playlists you wish to transfer, and begin the import.

Spotify says there are no limits on the number of playlists you can transfer or the number of songs each playlist contains. This makes the feature particularly useful for users who want to switch streaming platforms without losing years of curated playlists.

According to the company, the new playlist transfer tool is rolling out globally over the coming days. If you do not see the option yet in your app, Spotify suggests waiting a little longer as the rollout continues.

With this update, Spotify is making it easier than ever for new users to migrate from rival services, saving them the hassle of rebuilding playlists manually. The integration with TuneMyMusic marks another step in Spotify’s efforts to streamline onboarding and enhance user convenience across its platform.
