Kia’s new Stonic facelift brings two turbo variants with identical engines but notable differences in equipment, styling and practicality.
Kia Pakistan has introduced the facelifted Stonic with updated exterior and interior styling, offering Pakistani buyers two turbocharged variants: the Stonic Turbo S and Stonic Turbo X. While both versions share the same powertrain, their equipment and design features create noticeable differences.
The company has yet to announce the official prices of the new Stonic variants. This leaves buyers with specifications and features as the main basis for comparing the two versions before making a purchase decision.
Engine and Performance
Both the Turbo S and Turbo X use a 1.0-litre Turbo GDi petrol engine producing 100 PS and 172 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT), while Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes are available in both variants.
The Turbo S has a stated 183mm ground clearance, which is relevant for navigating speed breakers, uneven streets and rougher sections of Pakistani roads. Both variants measure 4,165mm in length and feature a 2,580mm wheelbase.
Exterior Differences
The Turbo S receives 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/55R17 tyres, along with LED MFR headlamps, dynamic welcome lighting and LED front fog lamps. It also features a power tilt-and-slide sunroof.
The Turbo X comes with smaller 16-inch alloy wheels and 195/55R16 tyres. Its exterior adds bridge-type roof rails and silver skid plates at the front and rear, while bi-function projection headlamps with automatic light control replace the Turbo S’s lighting setup.
Interior and Convenience
Inside, the Turbo S features a two-tone black and medium-grey cabin with cloth and artificial leather seats. It also gets a smart key, push-button start and an electro-chromic rear-view mirror.
The Turbo X uses a one-tone black interior with cloth seats and a folding key. It adds cruise control with manual speed-limit assistance and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
Safety and Technology
Both variants offer six airbags, ESC, HAC, multi-collision braking, rear-view cameras and front and rear parking sensors. Both also feature an 8-inch display with six speakers, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus a 4.2-inch supervision TFT cluster.
With prices still undisclosed, the final choice between the Stonic Turbo S vs Turbo X will largely depend on pricing and which combination of comfort, styling and practicality buyers prefer.
