Yasin Ayari scores twice as Sweden overpower Tunisia with a commanding display in Monterrey.

Sweden kicked off their FIFA World Cup Group F campaign in emphatic fashion with a convincing 5-1 victory over Tunisia on Sunday. Midfielder Yasin Ayari starred with a brace as the Scandinavian side produced an attacking masterclass at Monterrey Stadium.

The Swedish team, managed by Graham Potter, wasted no time asserting control. Ayari opened the scoring in the seventh minute after reacting quickest to a loose ball following Viktor Gyokeres’ blocked effort. The Brighton midfielder struck first-time to give Sweden an early advantage.

Sweden continued to dominate possession and doubled their lead soon afterward. Arsenal forward Alexander Isak played a key role in the move, controlling a long pass from Benjamin Nygren before setting up the attack that resulted in another clinical finish past Tunisian goalkeeper Abdelmouhib Chamakh.

Despite Sweden’s superiority, Tunisia found a route back into the game just before halftime. Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri delivered an excellent cross that Omar Rekik converted, reducing the deficit and giving the African side renewed hope.

However, Sweden regained complete control after the break. Tunisia’s defensive error allowed Viktor Gyokeres to capitalize and score the third goal, restoring his side’s two-goal cushion.

Substitute Mattias Svanberg made an immediate impact moments after entering the pitch. The midfielder volleyed home from close range after a clever flick from Isak, extending Sweden’s lead to 4-1.

Ayari completed his outstanding performance deep into stoppage time. The midfielder took advantage of a turnover and unleashed a powerful long-range strike that left Chamakh with no chance, sealing a comprehensive 5-1 victory.

The impressive win places Sweden in a strong position in Group F, while Tunisia will need a quick response to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
