    Banks to reopen on Friday July 23, 2021

    KARACHI: Banks will observe three holidays on account of Eid ul Adha from July 20 to July 22, 2021.

    The banks will reopen on Friday July 23, 2021, as per the announcement.

    A statement issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said that the central bank will observe Eid ul Adha holidays on July 20, July 21 and July 22, 2021 as announced by the federal government.

    The banking activities will resume from July 23, 2021.

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced bank holidays for Eid ul Adha. The SBP in a circular said that the banks shall remain closed from July 20 to July 22 for Eid Holidays.

    The SBP further said that the central bank would remain closed from July 20 to July 22 (Tuesday to Thursday) being public holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Adha.

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday announced bank holiday on July 01, 2021 as all banks shall remained closed for public dealing.

    According to a circular issued, the SBP will remained closed for public dealing on Thursday July 01, 2021 which shall be observed as bank holiday enabling bank to close its accounts.

    All banks / Development Financial Institutions (DFIs)/ Microfinance Banks (MFBs) shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date.

    However, employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office as usual.

    KARACHI: Banks shall observe six days holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday said that it will remain closed from 10th to 15th May, 2021 (Monday to Saturday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

    Simultaneously, banks shall also observe the holidays on the said dates. However, through another notification the SBP allowed the banks to open all the branches on Saturday May 08, 2021 to facilitate their customers.

    “In the wake of forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays from 10th to 15th May, 2021 and to cater the banking needs of public at large, it has been decided that all branches of banks / MFBs shall remain open on May 8, 2021 (Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (without break).”

    Bank holiday for Zakat deduction

    KARACHI: Banks shall remain closed on the first day of Ramaza-ul-Mubarak 1442 A. H. for deduction of Zakat.

    The Stat Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in a notification issued on Monday said that SBP will remain closed for public dealing on 1st Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, 1442 A.H., which shall be observed as “Bank Holiday” for the purpose of deduction of Zakat.

    All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on 1st Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, 1442 A.H. However, all employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend to their official assignments (in-office or work-from-home, as designated under the current COVID-19 situation) on Bank Holiday treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealing).

    KARACHI: The banks will remained closed on March 23, 2021 on the occasion of Pakistan Day, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Wednesday.

    In a circular, the SBP informed the presidents and chief executives of all banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks that the central bank would remain closed on March 23, 2021 (Tuesday) being public holiday on the occasion of “Pakistan Day” as declared by the government.

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday announced bank holiday on occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 05, 2021.

    The SBP said that it would remain closed on February 05, 2021 (Friday) on the occasion of “Kashmir Solidarity Day”.

    On this day, one-minute silence shall be observed at 10:00 a.m. to honor Kashmiris Shuhada, as announced by the Government of Pakistan.

    The SBP communicated the announcement to all the presidents and chief executives of banks, development financial institutions and microfinance banks.

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Wednesday declared bank holiday on January 01, 2021 on account of financial close of banking companies.

    In a circular issued to presidents and chief executives of all banks, development financial institutions and microfinance banks, the SBP informed that the central bank will remain closed for public dealing on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, which will be observed as ‘Bank Holiday’.

    All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the above date. However, all employees of banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office as usual, the SBP said.

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday announced that the central bank would remain closed on December 25, 2020 (Friday) due to Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.

    The SBP said that it will remain closed on December 25, 2020 (Friday) being a public holiday on the occasions of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.

    The commercial banks shall also observe the public holiday.
