    SBR extends date for e-filing tax return

    KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has extended the date for e-filing (electronic filing) of sales tax return and payment of sales tax on services for the month of June 2022.

    The provincial revenue authority on Monday issued a circular for extension in the last date for e-deposit of Sindh Sales Tax for the tax period June 2022 and for e-filing of tax return for the tax period June 2022.

    According the circular, the SRB permitted the registered persons, including the withholding agents covered by the provisions of the Sindh Sales Tax Procedure (Withholding) Rules, 2014, to:

    i. e-deposit the amounts of Sindh Sales Tax for the tax period June 2022 on or before Thursday July 21, 2022;

    ii. e-file their returns for the tax period June 2022 on or before Monday July 25, 2022.

    Sources said that the SRB extended the date for making payment of sales tax on services and for filing return in order to facilitate the taxpayers.

    They said that stakeholders approached the SRB for giving reasonable time to make compliance the mandatory requirement.

    The stakeholders were of the view that due to long holidays on account of Eid ul Adha, very few days were left to comply with the statutory requirement.

    It is important to note that the government had announced holidays from July 8, 2022 to July 12, 2022 on account of Eid ul Adha.

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the last date for filing monthly sales tax return and payment for March 2020.

    In a notification issued on Friday, the FBR extended the date for payment of sales tax and federal excise duty for the month of March 2020 which was due on April 15, 2020 and extended up to May 12, 2020, has been further extended up to May 27, 2020.

    Similarly, the filing of sales tax return for the month of March 2020, which was due on April 18, 2020 and extended up to May 15, 2020, has been further extended up to May 30, 2020.

    KARACHI: Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) on Thursday extended the last date for filing sales tax returns for the month of March up to April 30, 2010 to facilitate taxpayers in the wake of ongoing lockdown to prevent coronavirus outbreak.

    The SRB issued a circular to extend the date for filing sales tax return for month of March 2020 up to April 30, 2020 from the exiting due date of April 18, 2020.

    The SRB also extended the date for payment of sales tax on services for the month of March 2020 up to April 27, 2020 from April 15, 2020,

    The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) requested the provincial tax authority to extend the date for filing monthly returns.

    The tax bar said that due to ongoing lockdown for prevention of coronavirus outbreak, the grant of date extension would help the taxpayers in discharging their liabilities.

    SRB extends sales tax return filing up to December 28

    KARACHI: Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has extended the last date for filing sales tax return for the month of November 2019 up to December 28, 2019 in order to facilitate taxpayers.

    A circular issued by the SRB on Thursday extended the last date for e-filing of tax return for the tax period of November 2019.

    The provincial tax authority said that in order to facilitate registered persons in adopting the newly introduced STRIVe system, the SRB allowed the registered persons, including the withholding agents covered by the provisions of the Sindh Sales Tax Special Procedure (Withholding) Rules, 2014, to e-file their tax returns for the tax period November 2019, on or before Saturday December 28, 2019.

    However, the due date for e-deposit of the amount of Sindh sales tax for the tax period November 2019 would remain unchanged.

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday further extended the last date for filing sales tax return for the month of October up to November 29, 2019.

    The FBR issued a notification for extension in date of submission of sales tax and federal excise return for the tax period of October 2019.

    The FBR extended the date of submission of sales tax and federal excise return for the tax period of October, 2019 which was due on November 18, 2019 and extended up to November 25, 2019 and now further extended up to November 29, 2019.

    It may be worth mentioning here that the last date for filing income tax returns for tax year 2019 is November 30, 2019. The extension in date for sales tax return filing will burden the tax practitioners and lawyers in return filing and taxpayers will have an excuse for demanding further extension in income tax return filing date.

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday extended the date for filing sales tax and federal excise return for the month of July 2019.

    A notification issued by the FBR said that the annexures of sales and purchases, which are due on August 10, 2019 cab be submitted up to August 16, 2019.

    The FBR further said that payment of sales tax and federal excise duty, which is due on August 15, 2019 can be made up to August 19, 2019.

    Similarly, the date for submitting sales tax and federal excise return, which is due on August 18, 2019, has been extended up to August 21, 2019.

    The FBR said that the date has been extended considering the Eid holidays.

    The SRB issued Circular No. 03/2019 to extend the last date for e-deposit of Sindh sales tax and for e-filing of tax return for the tax period of July 2019.

    The SRB extended the date for withholding agents covered under Sindh Sales Tax Special Procedure (Withholding) Rules, 2011, to:

    i. e-deposit the amounts of Sindh sales tax for the tax period July 2019, on or before Monday, August 19, 2019; and

    ii. e-file their tax returns on or before Thursday, August 22, 2019.

    In this regard the FBR issued Income Tax Circular No. 10 to allow extension for filing withholding statements under Section 165 of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the last date for payment of duty and tax and filing of sales tax and federal excise returns for the month of May 2019.

    The FBR issued notification on Monday addressing all chief commissioners of Inland Revenue regarding extension in the date for submission of sales tax and federal excise return for the tax period of May 2019.

    The dates have been extended considering the Eid holidays which are falling on June 04 to June 07, 2019.

    The FBR extended the date of submission of Annexure-C and Annexure-I of the sales tax and federal excise return up to June 15, 2019, the date of payment of sales tax and federal excise duty up tot June 18, 2019 and the date of submission of sales tax and federal excise return up to June 21, 2019 for the tax period May 2019 due to Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

    Earlier, tax practitioners requested the FBR to extend the dates.

    A letter has been sent on Friday to FBR Chairman Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi for urgent consideration and for extension of time for e-filing of sales tax annexure ‘C’ and sales tax returns for the tax period May 2019.

    The Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) in its letter to FBR chairman informed that the last date for e-filing of sales tax annexure ‘C’ of sales tax returns and filing of sales tax return for the month May 2019 is June 10, 2019 and June 15, 2019, respectively. However, due to Eid Holidays due from June 04 to June 08, 2019, all the business houses will remain closed.

    The PTBA further said that the first word day after Eid and weekly holidays shall be June 10, 2019 which will be the last day of filing of Annexure “C”. Therefore it would not be practically possible to submit annexure “C” and Sales Tax Return in time.

    In view of above, the PTBA requested to extend the last date of e-filling of Sales Tax annexure “C” and e-filling of sales tax return up to June 18, 2019 for the tax period May 2019 to facilitate the taxpayers to fulfill their legal obligations properly.
