The highly anticipated sequel, “Stree 2,” featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is set to reveal its teaser on June 14.
However, local fans might face some disappointment as the teaser will only be available in theaters.
Continuing the trend of successful supernatural films from Maddock Films, “Stree 2” follows the popular titles “Stree,” “Roohi,” “Bhediya,” and the recently released “Munjya.” The horror-comedy is part of Indian film producer Dinesh Vijan’s expansive supernatural universe.
The teaser for “Stree 2,” a horror flick slated for a late 2024 release, will be exclusively shown in cinemas screening “Munjya,” which stars Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh.
This 1 minute, 23 seconds-long teaser, approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), will not be shared on social media or any other platforms, as confirmed by the filmmakers in a recent social media post. Fans will have to visit theaters to get a glimpse of what’s in store.
“This promo of ‘Stree 2’ will give an idea as to what one can expect from the film this time,” sources close to the production hinted, suggesting an exciting continuation of the supernatural narrative.
“Stree 2” marks the fifth installment in Maddock Films’ Supernatural Universe and is a direct sequel to the 2018 hit “Stree.” The film reunites the original cast, including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee.
Amar Kaushik returns to direct, with a story penned by Niren Bhatt, known for his work on “Bhediya” and “Munjya.” The project is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in collaboration with Jio Studios.
Fans can look forward to the theatrical release of “Stree 2” on August 30, promising another thrilling addition to the supernatural series.
