Islamabad, June 19, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert indicating a 40 percent probability of thunderstorm activity in Islamabad on Friday, June 20, 2025.
According to the PMD, the federal capital and its surrounding areas are likely to experience hot weather conditions accompanied by possible rain, windstorm, or thunderstorm, particularly during the late afternoon or evening hours.
For Thursday, June 19, the PMD has forecast hot and dry conditions in Islamabad, with daytime temperatures expected to soar significantly. The PMD has also warned that the weather in Islamabad may feel very hot during peak daylight hours, especially between noon and late afternoon.
On a broader national scale, the PMD has predicted extreme heat across most parts of the country, with very hot and dry weather likely to persist in plain regions. The PMD advises the general public—particularly vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the old-age —to adopt precautionary measures to avoid heat-related illnesses.
“People are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, especially during midday hours,” the PMD said. “Staying indoors, keeping hydrated, and wearing light clothing are crucial during this heat spell.”
