Toyota Pakistan pauses car production on import restrictions

KARACHI: Indus Motor Company Ltd. (IMC) has paused its production of cars due to import restrictions.

The company and its vendors continue to face hurdles on import of raw materials and receiving clearance of their consignments from commercial banks, on account of difficulties in opening LCs for raw materials by banks.

This has disrupted the supply chain of company and its vendors are unable to supply raw material and components to company.

Accordingly, the company has insufficient inventory levels to maintain production, therefore it is unable to continue its production activities.

The company has decided to completely shut down its production plant from March 24, 2023 to March 27, 2023.

Previously, Indus Motor Company had completely shut down its production plant from February 01, 2023 to February 14, 2023.
