Unstoppable Fatima Powers Pakistan to World Cup Glory

Skipper Fatima Sana has expressed confidence in maintaining Pakistan unbeaten streak in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifiers, as her team heads into their final group-stage clash with Bangladesh on April 19. After a dominant 87-run victory over Thailand, Pakistan has now won all four of their matches, securing their place in the upcoming World Cup set to be held later this year in India.

Pakistan, led by the spirited Fatima, has displayed consistent and composed cricket throughout the qualifiers. Their latest triumph against Thailand saw all-round contributions with both bat and ball. Fatima, proud of her squad’s unity and performance, credited her teammates for trusting her leadership.

“We have qualified, and it feels amazing. The main credit goes to our team — they’ve stood by me and supported me fully in this journey,” said Fatima after the match. “Now, we aim to win our final game as well and finish the qualifiers unbeaten. That would be a huge statement for Pakistan cricket.”

Pakistan’s innings had a shaky start, but Sidra Amin anchored the innings with a composed knock. Fatima herself played a crucial role in the latter overs, contributing valuable runs to help post a defendable total of 205/6.

“Thailand bowled really well in the first 40 overs and put us under pressure,” Fatima admitted. “But after that, we began finding gaps. I managed to chip in with some runs, and Sidra did a fantastic job staying at the crease and guiding the innings.”

The bowling unit, spearheaded by Fatima, Nashra Sandhu, and Rameen Shamim, dismantled Thailand’s batting order with three wickets each. Their combined effort sealed a comprehensive win for Pakistan and highlighted the team’s depth and determination.

Fatima’s leadership and Pakistan’s all-round form have made them one of the most impressive sides in the tournament. As they prepare for their final showdown in Lahore, the goal is clear — stay unbeaten, keep Pakistan’s flag flying high, and carry this momentum into the World Cup itself.
