Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G Quietly Launches

The Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G has entered the market in an unconventional manner. While the smartphone has yet to be officially announced, it is already available for purchase in Bangladesh.

Now, reports suggest that the device is preparing for a European launch, possibly under the Poco C71 branding. Despite the name variation, the hardware remains the same.

Redmi A5 4G: Specifications and Features

The Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G sports a 6.88-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 720p+. The screen offers an impressive peak brightness of 1,500 nits, making it a solid choice for outdoor usage. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.

In Bangladesh, the smartphone is available in two configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage for BDT 11,000 and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage for BDT 13,000. The European variant might introduce a unique storage option of 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, expected to be priced at €149.

Camera and Battery

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 32MP main camera, which promises decent image quality for its price segment. On the front, an 8MP selfie camera ensures clear video calls and selfies. Powering the Redmi A5 4G is a robust 5,200 mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging. However, the retail package in Bangladesh includes a 15W charger, and it remains unclear if the European version will come with one.

Additional Features and Software

The Redmi A5 4G offers a range of modern features, including a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A microSD expansion slot provides extra storage flexibility. The device runs on Android 15 Go Edition, offering a streamlined experience for budget-conscious users.

With a lightweight build of 193g and dimensions measuring 171.7 x 77.8 x 8.26mm, the Redmi A5 4G combines durability with comfort. As anticipation builds for its official European debut, Xiaomi fans are eager to see if the device will indeed launch as the Poco C71.
