COAS Asim Munir vows strong response to future aggression

Army Chief of Pakistan

Syed Asim Munir on Sunday declared that Pakistan’s defence was fully impregnable against any external aggression and warned that any future hostile action against the country would have “serious, far-reaching and painful consequences.”

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), now holding the rank of Field Marshal, made these remarks while addressing a special ceremony at General Headquarters to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq victory.

Marka-e-Haq described as clash of ideologies

Field Marshal Asim Munir said Marka-e-Haq was not merely a conflict between two countries but a decisive clash between “two ideologies” in which truth ultimately prevailed.

“Alhamdulillah! today, Pakistan’s defence is fully impregnable against any external aggression, and any future hostile action against Pakistan will have serious, far-reaching and painful consequences,” he said.

The army chief stated that Pakistan emerged victorious with the support of Allah, while “falsehood faced humiliation and defeat.”

He termed the occasion a matter of pride for the entire nation and said the success reflected Pakistan’s unity, strength and determination in the face of challenges.

COAS criticizes India’s regional ambitions

The COAS said the events of May 2025 were part of a broader pattern of what he described as Indian hostility and propaganda against Pakistan.

According to him, India’s ambitions to isolate Pakistan militarily and diplomatically and alter the regional balance of power would never succeed.

He said Pakistan’s armed forces and people had never bowed before pressure in the past and would not do so in the future.

“The confrontation from the night of May 6-7 until May 10 was an unsuccessful attempt by the enemy to test Pakistan’s national resolve and dignity,” he added.

Tribute paid to martyrs and civilians

Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to the unarmed women, old-age citizens and children who lost their lives during Marka-e-Haq.

He said Pakistan considered the sacrifices of its martyrs a sacred trust and viewed its national strength as a responsibility.

“The message from the people and national leadership is clear that no compromise will be accepted on Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity,” he said.

Nation stood united during conflict

The army chief said the battle was not only fought on the battlefield but across every sector of national life.

“The entire nation stood like a solid wall in the defense of the homeland,” he said, adding that large numbers of people came out in support of the armed forces when Indian missiles struck.

He further stated that Pakistan achieved an “unparalleled victory” in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos with the blessings of Allah.
