Najmul Hossain Shanto reaches career-high ranking
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto played a key role in the historic triumph and was named Player of the Match following strong performances in both innings.
Shanto scored his ninth Test century in the first innings before adding a valuable 87 runs in the second innings.
The left-handed batter climbed 16 places in the ICC Test batting rankings to reach a new career-best position in joint 23rd place.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque also gain
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim improved two positions to 26th in the Test batting rankings after contributing important runs during the match.
Meanwhile, Mominul Haque jumped 12 spots to reach joint 35th following his solid batting performance against Pakistan.
Bangladesh bowlers make strong progress
Bangladesh bowlers also enjoyed significant gains after their dominant display in Mirpur.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam claimed two wickets in each innings and moved up three places to 13th in the ICC Test bowling rankings.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed returned to the rankings at 48th after taking four wickets in his first Test appearance since late 2024.

Pace sensation Nahid Rana emerged as one of the biggest winners following his match-winning performance in Pakistan’s second innings.
The fast bowler claimed a decisive five-wicket haul to help Bangladesh complete the victory and climbed five places to 64th in the Test bowling rankings.
Mohammad Abbas gains for Pakistan
Despite Pakistan’s defeat, experienced pacer Mohammad Abbas returned to the ICC Test bowling rankings at 28th place after taking a five-wicket haul in Bangladesh’s first innings.
