PQA reports vessel movements, cargo handling and arrivals at outer anchorage
KARACHI – Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Wednesday released its latest shipping operations report for May 13, 2026, detailing vessel movements, cargo handling activities and arrivals at the port.
The Port Qasim Authority issues daily shipping operation updates at 8:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time to facilitate stakeholders in the maritime and logistics sectors.
Coal carrier berthed at PIBT
According to the latest report, the bulk cargo carrier Primavera-II carrying coal berthed at the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PIBT) on Tuesday.
Port authorities said shipping activity remained active during the last 24 hours with several vessels arriving and departing from the port.
Four vessels arrive at outer anchorage
During the reporting period, four additional ships arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
The arriving vessels included:
• Hansa Europe carrying containers
• Golden Violet carrying palm oil
• Al-Kharaitiyat carrying LNG
• La Stella carrying coal
The arrivals reflect continued activity across containerized cargo, energy imports and bulk commodities.
Two ships expected to sail today
PQA stated that a total of four ships remained engaged at various berths during the last 24 hours.
Out of these, the vessels Elefsis and Bai Chay Bridge are expected to sail from the port on Wednesday afternoon.
Cargo handling exceeds 43,000 tonnes
The port handled a total cargo volume of 43,772 tonnes during the last 24 hours.
According to the report:
• Import cargo handled: 43,772 tonnes
• Export cargo handled: 0 tonnes
The handled cargo mainly consisted of energy products and bulk commodities.
18 ships anchored at Port Qasim
The authority further said that 18 ships were currently present at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
Among them, Golden Violet, Al-Kharaitiyat, Hansa Europe, and Bai Chay Bridge are expected to take berths at:
• LCT
• EETL
• QICT
on Wednesday.
Port Qasim remains one of Pakistan’s key maritime trade hubs, handling a significant share of the country’s imports, exports and energy cargo operations.
