Cambridge International Education probes exam paper leaks

Cambridge International Education has launched an urgent investigation into reports of leaked examination questions during the ongoing exam season, following widespread concern from students, parents, and school communities.

In an official statement on Friday, Cambridge International Education acknowledged the seriousness of the matter, stating: “We are aware of the alleged circulation of specific exam questions prior to the official sitting and fully understand the concern and anxiety this causes for students and their families. Our Legal and Compliance teams are rigorously reviewing all available evidence to ensure fairness in grading and the integrity of the process.”

The organization emphasized that protecting the credibility of Cambridge Education assessments is of the utmost importance. “We are committed to upholding the highest standards in international education, and we take any report of malpractice extremely seriously,” the statement added.

Cambridge also warned candidates against falling victim to fraudulent claims online. The body highlighted an increase in the spread of fake content and exam scams on various social media platforms. “We have seen a significant volume of misinformation. Engaging with individuals who claim to have access to actual question papers may not only be unhelpful but could also constitute malpractice,” Cambridge International Education cautioned.

While the organization confirmed ongoing inquiries, it also clarified its position on communication during exam periods: “We do not comment on individual allegations while an exam series is in progress, as our focus remains on supporting students. Any verified updates or policy changes will be shared directly with schools after the series concludes.”

Cambridge Education, which conducts over two million examinations annually in 160 countries, noted that breaches of exam security are extremely rare. However, in cases where integrity is compromised, the organization may take measures such as grade adjustments or disciplinary sanctions to maintain fairness.

Reassuring the global Cambridge student body, the statement concluded: “We value the trust placed in us by the global education community and are committed to ensuring every candidate receives a fair and reliable result. All necessary actions will be taken in the best interests of students and the reputation of Cambridge Education.”
