Sindh announces two-month summer vacations for schools
Sindh schools to remain closed from June 1
Sindh Education Department on Monday announced two-month summer vacations for schools across the province.
According to the official statement, all public and private schools in Sindh will remain closed from June 1 to July 31, 2026.
Officials said the decision applies to educational institutions throughout the province.
Punjab also announces vacation schedule
The announcement came shortly after Rana Sikandar Hayat revealed the summer vacation schedule for Punjab.
Punjab schools are scheduled to begin vacations from May 22, with holidays continuing until August 23.
The extended break means students in Punjab will receive more than three months of summer holidays.
Relief amid intense heatwave conditions
The decision has brought relief to students, parents and teachers as the country continues to experience extremely hot weather conditions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures are expected to remain high in the coming weeks.
The weather department also cautioned about possible heatwaves, flash floods, urban flooding and windstorms in several regions during the upcoming months.
Weather department warns of severe conditions
According to the Met Office, rising temperatures may trigger dust storms, hailstorms and strong winds, potentially affecting crops, vegetables and orchards.
Authorities have advised the public to take precautionary measures during extreme weather conditions, especially during peak daytime temperatures.
Education officials said the early announcement would help schools and parents plan accordingly ahead of the summer season.
