Minister waives demurrage charges on auctionable containers at Karachi Port
Islamabad, March 9, 2026 – In a significant move to ease congestion at the country’s busiest maritime hub, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, announced the waiver of demurrage charges on auctionable containers at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with KPT’s private terminals.
