KARACHI, April 16, 2026 — Islamabad United delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Karachi Kings by eight wickets in the 25th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday.
Chasing a modest target of 151, Islamabad United reached 154/2 in just 16 overs, sealing victory with 24 balls to spare, thanks to fluent half-centuries from Sameer Minhas and Devon Conway.
The visitors got off to a flying start as Minhas and Conway stitched together a 93-run opening partnership inside 10 overs, effectively putting the chase beyond Karachi’s reach. Minhas led the charge with an aggressive 58 off 36 balls, striking 10 boundaries, before being stumped off Moeen Ali on the final ball of the 10th over.
Karachi briefly found hope when Hasan Ali dismissed Mohammad Faiq for five in the 13th over, reducing United to 111/2. However, Conway and captain Shadab Khan ensured there were no further setbacks, combining for an unbeaten 43-run stand to guide the team home.
Conway remained not out on 53 from 36 deliveries, hitting six fours and a six, while Shadab contributed a quickfire 31 off 16 balls, including two sixes and a four. Minhas was later named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
Earlier, Karachi Kings struggled to build momentum after being put in to bat, posting 150/6 in their 20 overs. Their innings got off to a shaky start as Saad Baig fell early for six, with just seven runs on the board.
A 62-run partnership between Jason Roy (39 off 27) and Reeza Hendricks steadied the innings, but regular wickets halted progress. Shadab Khan struck twice in quick succession, removing Hendricks and Salman Ali Agha to dent Karachi’s middle order.
Hendricks held the innings together with an unbeaten 51 off 44 balls, anchoring the total past 150 with late support from Moeen Ali.
For Islamabad, Richard Gleeson and Shadab Khan picked up two wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Hasnain claimed one apiece.
The comprehensive victory strengthens Islamabad United’s position in the PSL standings, while Karachi Kings will look to regroup after another inconsistent performance.
