Mitsubishi Unveils All-New Colt Compact Hatchback

Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, has revealed the all-new Colt compact hatchback designed specifically for the European market.

Building on the success of the recently launched ASX, the seventh-generation Colt is based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform and has been developed by Renault.

Production of the model will take place at Renault’s Bursa plant in Turkey, with availability in Mitsubishi Motors’ showrooms across Europe starting from October. This reintroduction marks the return of the Colt to the European market after a gap of nine years.

Powertrain:

The all-new Colt offers two powertrain options: a full hybrid (HEV) model and a gasoline engine model. The HEV variant combines a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors (an alternator-starter and a main motor), an automatic multi-mode gearbox, and a 1.2 kWh battery.

On the other hand, the gasoline model provides a choice between a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 1.0-liter gasoline engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Exterior:

In terms of exterior, the all-new Colt boasts a dynamic and sporty appearance perfectly suited for European cities.

It incorporates Mitsubishi Motors’ signature Dynamic Shield design concept, featuring slim LED headlights on the upper part and L-shaped LED daytime running lights below, giving it a distinct and sharp look. The rear of the vehicle is characterized by a wide bumper that emphasizes its agility and stability.

Interior:

The all-new Colt boasts a premium interior equipped with a Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system positioned at the center of the instrument panel.

The driver can access the Multi-Sense system through a 7-inch or 9.3-inch display, enabling personalization of the driving experience, including drive modes (My Sense, Sport, or Eco mode), engine and steering response, and ambient lighting. Additionally, the vehicle offers a high-quality Bose premium sound system, ensuring an immersive audio experience while driving.

Safety features:

In terms of safety, a range of advanced safety features are incorporated to assist the driver and enhance overall safety during journeys.

These safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go (ACC), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Easy Park Assist, Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM). Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Traffic Sign Recognition system (TSR), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
