Nothing Phone (4b) launches with bigger battery, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4

Nothing has unveiled the Phone (4b), introducing a new mid-range smartphone with a larger battery, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor and the company’s signature Glyph lighting system.

The Nothing Phone (4b) sits between the Phone (4a) and Phone (3a) Lite in the company’s product lineup and focuses on battery life rather than being a direct successor to the Phone (4a).

The smartphone features a 5,200mAh battery in global markets, which Nothing says can deliver up to 22 hours of continuous video streaming. In India, the device ships with a larger 6,000mAh battery. Both versions support 33W wired charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 powers the Nothing Phone (4b)

The Phone (4b) is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, positioning it above the Dimensity 7300 Pro-powered Phone (3a) Lite but below the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4-equipped Phone (4a).

Nothing is offering the handset with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage in most markets. Indian buyers will also have the option of an 8GB/256GB variant. Unlike the Phone (3a) Lite, the new model does not include expandable microSD storage.

The device starts at €330 in Europe and £300 in the United Kingdom. Pre-orders are now open through Nothing’s official website, while sales in India will be handled through Flipkart.

OLED display and dual cameras

The Nothing Phone (4b) features a 6.77-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches up to 1,200 nits in high brightness mode and 2,000 nits peak brightness, while Dragontrail Pro Glass provides screen protection.

On the rear, the phone houses a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation alongside a 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera offering a 120-degree field of view. Video recording is supported at up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.

A 16-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

Glyph Bar and Android 16

Nothing has retained its signature Glyph interface, replacing the larger lighting system with a compact Glyph Bar featuring four white LEDs and one red LED. The lights can display timers, recording indicators and other notifications through Nothing OS.

The Phone (4b) ships with Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16, and the company has committed to providing three years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Additional features include an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 6, dual-SIM support and the dedicated Essential Key for AI-powered features, including Essential Voice and Essential Search.

The Nothing Phone (4b) is available in White, Black and Blue, with shipments expected to begin after the pre-order period ends.
