Port Qasim Releases Shipping Activity Report for April 2

Karachi, April 2, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has issued its shipping activity report for Tuesday, April 2, 2024, to provide crucial information to stakeholders and facilitate smooth operations at the port.

According to the report, significant shipping activity was recorded at the port on Monday. Five ships, namely MSC Prelude V, Supra Duke, Goofy, Al-Areesh, and UOG Sparta, were scheduled to load/offload Containers, Rice, Coal, LNG, and Mogas. These vessels berthed at various terminals including the Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Gasport Terminal, and Oil Terminal respectively.

Additionally, three more ships, Hanze Goteborg, Ardmore Cherokee, and Chemroad Journey, arrived at the outer anchorage of the port on the same day. These vessels were scheduled to handle Rice, Palm oil, and Chemicals.

During the past 24 hours, a total of twelve ships were engaged at PQA berths. Out of these, three ships, MSC Prelude V, SC Taipei, and Yun Ding 19, are expected to sail in the afternoon of April 2.

The cargo volume handled at the port during the last 24 hours amounted to 101,239 tonnes, comprising 70,823 tonnes of imports cargo and 30,416 tonnes of export cargo. This included containerized cargo carried in 1,791 containers, with 181 TEUs for imports and 1,610 TEUs for exports.

Currently, there are seven ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Four of these ships, namely Maersk Kingston, MSC Spring III, Chemroad Journey, and Silver Heba, along with another ship, Al-Wajba, carrying Containers, Chemicals, Palm oil, and LNG, are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL, LCT, and EETL on April 2, 2024.
