Possibility of Rain, Wind and Thundershowers in Islamabad and Upper Punjab on August 28

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory, forecasting the possibility of rain, wind, and thundershowers in Islamabad and the upper Punjab region on Monday, August 28, 2023.

This weather phenomenon is part of a broader system affecting several parts of the country.

According to the PMD’s weather update, rain, wind, and thundershowers are expected in various areas, including the Potohar region, Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. However, hot and humid weather conditions are anticipated in other regions of the country.

The synoptic situation leading to this weather event is attributed to a westerly wave influencing the upper regions of Pakistan. Additionally, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are making their way into the upper parts of the country, contributing to this weather pattern.
