Karachi, November 28, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) released its daily shipping activity report, highlighting busy operations on Thursday, November 28, 2024, as cargo traffic continues to facilitate trade and commerce.
Seven vessels berthed at various terminals on Wednesday, handling diverse cargo types. These included:
• Abdullah-M for rice at the Multi-Purpose Terminal,
• Maersk Cabo Verde, MSC Positano, and CMA CGM Otello for containers at the Qasim International Container Terminal,
• Alba Gas for LPG at the Engro Vopak Terminal,
• Hafnia Phoenix for gasoline at the FOTCO Oil Terminal,
• Amis Glory for coal at the Multi-Purpose Terminal.
Additionally, two more vessels, Pacific Era and African Leopard, carrying Mogas and coal respectively, arrived at the outer anchorage on the same day, awaiting berthing.
During the last 24 hours, twelve ships were actively engaged at PQA berths. Among them, the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrier ‘Al-Sheehaniya’ departed the port this morning. Four other vessels, Maersk Cabo Verde, CMA CGM Otello, MSC Positano, and Valianta, are scheduled to sail later on Thursday.
The port handled a total cargo volume of 160,711 tonnes over the past 24 hours. This included 111,907 tonnes of imports and 48,804 tonnes of exports, transported in 5,380 containers (3,125 TEUs imports and 2,255 TEUs exports).
Currently, 15 ships are anchored at Port Qasim’s outer anchorage. Among these, two vessels, Saehan Kostar and GFS Ruby, as well as two others, Colombo Express and Ullswater, carrying palm oil, containers, and LPG, are expected to berth at the LCT, QICT, and SSGC terminals respectively on Thursday. Another container ship, ‘One Responsibility’, is scheduled to arrive on Friday, signaling continued high activity levels at the port.
