    FBR promotes 14 customs officers to BS-19

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday announced promotion of 14 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) from BS-18 to the post of Additional Collectors BS-19 on regular basis with immediate effect.

    Following officers have been promoted to BS-19:

    1. Ali Raza Turabi

    2. Dr. Imran Rasool Khan

    3. Muhammad Hassan Farid

    4. Ghulam Hyder Mahesar

    The FBR said that the officers who are already working in BS-19 on OPS basis will actualize their promotion against these posts.

    Posting / Transfer of the remaining officers will be notified separately, and they shall actualize accordingly.

    The officers who were drawing performance allowance prior to issuance of this notification shall continue to draw this allowance on their promotion.

  • Three FBR officers promoted to BS-22

    Three FBR officers promoted to BS-22

    KARACHI: The establishment division on Friday notified promotion of three senior officials of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to BS-22 with immediate effect.

    According to notification issued by the FBR, two officers of Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and one officer of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) have been promoted to BS-22 from BS-21.

    The government has promoted IRS officers included: Khawaja Adnan Zahir and Ms. Fareena Mazhar.

    Fareena Mazhar has been promoted with effect from July 20, 2020.

    In PCS, Muhammad Zahid has been promoted to BS-22. He is presently serving as Director General (BS-21), Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi, which is now upgraded as Director General (BS-22), Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi.

    The officers already drawing performance allowance equal to 100 percent of the basic pay will continue to draw the same on their promotion.

    The FBR congratulates the officers on their promotion.

  • FPSC to conduct promotion examination of IR inspectors

    FPSC to conduct promotion examination of IR inspectors

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) will conduct examination for departmental promotion of Inland Revenue (IR) Inspectors, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said on Friday.

    In compliance of Supreme Court of Pakistan judgment dated June 05, 2017 in Civil Petitions No.2246, 2269, 2270 & 2308 of 2016 and Recruitment Rules notified vide Notification S.R.O. No.728(1)/2014 dated 11.07.2014, the matter regarding departmental promotion examination to the post of Inspector-IR (BS-16) was taken up with the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), Islamabad.

    On completion of due formalities with FPSC and consultation with Directorate General of Training and Research, Inland Revenue, Lahore the subject examination is to be conducted in near future.

    As a first step, the Federal Public Service Commission as informed that they are inviting online application from eligible candidates from November 04, 2019 to November 14, 2019.

    In view of the above, all eligible employees o Inland Revenue Department in terms of Recruitment Rules notified vide Notification S.R.O. No. 728(1)/2014 dated July 11, 2014 may be informed to apply online to FPSC for the departmental promotion examination for the post of Inspector IR (BS-16) within the given time frame.

    Online application form for the subject purpose will be available at the FPSC website.

    Conditions of eligibility for examination are:

    — 02 Years Service in BS-14 as Supervisor. Must pass departmental promotion examination in a manner prescribed by Federal Board of Revenue and to be conducted by the Directorate of Training & Research (IR) or FPSC or BY NTS.

    — 05 years service in BS-14 as Stenotypist. Must pass departmental promotion examination in a manner prescribed by Federal Board of Revenue and to be conducted by the Directorate of Training & Research (IR) or FPSC or by NTS.

    — 07 years service in BS-09 as UDC. Must pass departmental promotion examination in a manner prescribed by the Federal Board of revenue and to be conducted by the Directorate of Training & Research (IR) or FPSC or by NTS.

    — 10 years service in BS-07 as LDC. Must pass departmental promotion examination in a manner prescribed by the Federal Board of Revenue and to conducted by the Directorate of Training & Research (IR) or FPSC or by NTS.

    FBR nominates 22 customs officers BS-18 for mandatory training course

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday nominated 22 officers of BS-18 Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) for training course, which is mandatory for promotion to next scale.

    The FBR nominated the officers for 29th Mid Career Management Course (MCMC) that is commencing from February 03, 2020 to May 08, 2020 at National Institute of Management (NIM), Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

    The FBR directed all officers nominated to complete their performance evaluation reports (PERs) up to June 30, 2019 and submit their latest annual medical examination report to FBR by November 11, 2019. The FBR warned that in case any officer fails to do so next in order of seniority will be nominated/communicated to Establishment Division.

    The training course is important because it is mandatory for promotion. If an officer is selected for mandatory training, declines to proceed on training for two consecutive training course, he/she would forfeit the right to be considered for promotion, provided that the Prime Minister may dispense with this provision (in any case) in public interest.

    FBR asks BS-17 officers to complete PERs for promotion

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has advised all the officers of BS-17, who are in promotion zone, to submit their performance evaluation reports (PERs) up to September 10, 2019 for the consideration in the upcoming departmental promotion committee (DPC).

    A circular issued by the FBR said that the meeting of DPC for promotion from BS-17 to BS-18 being convened shortly.

    All BS-17 officers of Inland Revenue Service / Pakistan Customs Service and Ex-Cadre, who are in promotion zone, have been asked to get complete their PERs up to June 30, 2019 by September 10, 2019.

    FBR said that the promotions of above mentioned officials would take effect from the date of their joining / charge assumption, subject to the condition that no disciplinary proceedings were pending against them.

    They will be on probation for a period of one year, extendable for further period, not exceeding one year, provided that if no order is issued by the day following the termination of probationary period, the appointment shall deem to be held until further order.

    The FBR said that their promotion will take effect from the date of their joining, subject to the condition that no disciplinary proceedings/enquiry is pending against them.
