Updated Schedule, Venues Revealed for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

Sri Lanka and Netherlands have successfully qualified for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

Sri Lanka emerged victorious over Netherlands in the thrilling Qualifier final held in Harare. The tournament schedule has now been released, unveiling exciting matches to be held across various venues.

Sri Lanka will commence their World Cup journey by facing South Africa at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on 7 October.

Their Group Stage campaign will conclude with a match against New Zealand in Bengaluru on 9 November.

Meanwhile, Netherlands, the runners-up in the Qualifier, will kickstart their campaign against Pakistan on 6 October in Hyderabad.

Scott Edwards’ team will wrap up their Group Stage matches against tournament hosts India at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 11 November.

The highly anticipated tournament will commence with a captivating clash between defending champions England and New Zealand on 5 October at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The final Group Stage encounter will witness England facing Pakistan at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.

Semi-Finals and Final Schedule Revealed:

The first semi-final is scheduled for Wednesday, 15 November, in Mumbai, followed by the second semi-final on the next day in Kolkata. Both semi-finals have allocated reserve days to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances.

The grand finale will take place on 19 November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with 20 November serving as the reserve day. All three knockout matches will be day-night fixtures, commencing at 14:00 local time.

Venues and Warm-Up Matches Announced:

The World Cup will be hosted across ten venues, namely Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Additionally, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, along with Hyderabad, will host warm-up matches from 29 September to 3 October.
