FBR transfers BS-20 officers of Pakistan Customs Service

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has implemented a series of strategic transfers and postings within the Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) at the BS-20 level.

These changes, effective immediately and until further orders, were officially announced on Wednesday, signifying a reshuffling of senior officers to optimize roles and responsibilities.

The notified transfers and postings are as follows:

1. Ch. Muhammad Javaid (PCS/BS-20):

• Transferred and posted as Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi.

• Previous post: Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Gwadar.

2. Sadiqullah Khan (PCS/BS-20):

• Transferred and posted as Director, Pakistan Customs Academy (PCA), Karachi.

• Previous post: Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Hyderabad.

3. Mumtaz Ali Khoso (PCS/BS-20):

4. Raza (PCS/BS-20):

• Previous post: Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi.

The FBR emphasized that officers already receiving performance allowance before the issuance of this notification will continue to receive this allowance at their new place of posting.

Furthermore, the officers named in the announcement are requested to promptly submit charge Relinquishment/Assumption to the FBR. This process is crucial for record-keeping and any further necessary actions.

Such strategic transfers and postings within the PCS are common measures undertaken by the FBR to ensure an optimal alignment of expertise with responsibilities. The changes are often geared towards leveraging the strengths of individual officers in key positions, thereby enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness within the customs service.

The appointment of Ch. Muhammad Javaid as the Collector at the Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi, and the reassignment of officers like Sadiqullah Khan, Mumtaz Ali Khoso, and Raza to different collectorates reflects the FBR’s focus on ensuring a balanced distribution of experience and expertise within the PCS.

As these officers assume their new roles, stakeholders within the FBR and the broader customs and trade community will be keenly observing the impact of these changes on administrative dynamics, trade facilitation, and revenue collection. The successful execution of customs operations plays a pivotal role in the overall economic governance of the country, making strategic appointments crucial for sustained growth and efficiency.
