Millennium Education hosts Teachers’ Development Conference

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Musadik Malik, Minister of State for Petroleum, Ministry of Energy stressed on the correlation between good education and the growth of a country’s economy.

While petroleum has a huge contribution to our GDP, having highly educated individuals as future leaders is what Pakistan needs to maintain and further prosper country’s economy in every sector.

He expressed his thoughts while addressing the 14th Annual Teachers’ Development Conference organized by The Millennium Education Group. He appreciated the role of TME Group for conducting this conference for exposure and learning capacity of teachers by upscaling their professional development.

The Millennium Education Group has revolutionized the private education sector in Pakistan through its visionary ideas and innovative modern implementations. The Annual Teachers’ Development Conference was attended by over 1100 teachers spanning from across the country. TME partnered with JS Bank, an organization also dedicated to sponsoring initiatives that work towards positive societal development, ensured the success and impact of this event.

Since the theme of the conference was ‘Futurist- Quests- Challenges- Journey’, a revolutionary approach to teaching that does away with the conventional means of teaching and instead focuses on the finest and the most effective ways of talent development.

The conference sought to give pedagogy a whole new meaning for accelerated growth and development of the students. TME highlighted their contributive efforts towards achieving SDGs particularly SDG4 of provision of quality education.

Addressing the conference, TME Pakistan Chief Executive Dr. Faisal Mushtaq (TI) gave a revolutionary ideas for the reinvention of the conventional classroom, stating that the humble classroom ought to be transformed into a learning studio, which replaces the standard ‘lecture’ approach with ideas for innovation in instruction. Dr. Faisal Mushtaq closed off his address by doubling down on the importance of sound pedagogical foundations, interactive engagement, creativity, diversity, collaborative, and experiential learning as the key denominators to meaningful learning and intellectual development.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Faisal Mushtaq, the conference also promoted the innovative ‘Magic of 35 minutes: the minutes which could redefine, reshape and rebuild learning experiences’.

Guests at the TDC included His Excellency Andreas Ferrarese, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, Teacher’s Development Centre Director Abbas Hussain, National Curriculum Council of Pakistan Director Dr. Mariam Chughtai, SAPM Public Policy and Strategic Communications Fahd Hussain and many other distinguished leaders from across the academic spectrum in Pakistan. TME Pakistan Executive Director Anna Faisal, Academic Director Erum Atif and Director Communication Sabina Zakir also graced the occasion with their presence.

Leading the conference, Dr. Faisal Mushtaq presented awards and certificates to the instructors who had completed their Cambridge Professional Development qualifications, foundation courses and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert certificates.

Abbas Hussain presented his ideas, wonderfully encapsulated in the single sentence ‘Let the questions turn into a quest’. He alluded to different factors that contribute to classroom complexities and suggested many strategies for resolution, including revolutionizing the classroom by radically changing how students ask questions.

Dr. Mariam Chughtai referred to equity and inclusion as hallmark of education that ensures equal access for all learners to curriculum and programming within an educational setting. She stressed the need to close the opportunity and achievement gap because ‘Every child matters!’

From the beginning, the vision of the Teacher Development Conferences has been to bring teachers into direct contact with leading scholars, academia, and educational thinkers in a stimulating environment.

TDC 2023 strives to provide word class learning opportunities to the teachers. This conference aimed to provide the teachers with a platform to express themselves not only as educators, but also to discover the hidden potential in each one of them that leads to the discovery of their ultimate identity, as the builders of the blocks which will eventually culminate in the upheaval of the entire world.
