Karachi, November 22, 2023 – The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced the successful completion of the Khewari (Suleman 1 & 2) Development Project, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to enhance gas production.
The project is expected to contribute up to 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) to the national gas supply.
In an official communication sent to both the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and the London Stock Exchange Plc., OGDCL shared details about the successful conclusion of the Khewari project. The company expressed optimism about the positive impact it would have on the country’s energy landscape.
Currently, 7 MMSCFD of gas from the Khewari project is undergoing processing at the Sinjhoro Plant in the Sanghar District, Sindh Province. OGDCL has outlined plans to gradually increase this production to its full potential in the coming weeks.
As part of the project’s optimization efforts, the wells are undergoing a choke optimization process to further enhance the gas supply. This strategic move aligns with OGDCL’s commitment to maximizing efficiency and ensuring a steady and reliable gas supply for consumers.
OGDCL’s fast-track strategy played a pivotal role in expediting the gas injection processes. The company laid a 6-inch diameter pipeline, stretching over 14.5 kilometers from the Gathering Facility near Suleman-1 to the Chabaro Tie-in point. This swift execution demonstrates OGDCL’s dedication to timely project completion and its ability to meet the growing demand for natural gas.
The Khewari Development Project stands out as a collaborative effort, with OGDCL serving as the project operator, holding a significant 77.50 percent stake. Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) is a key partner in this venture, holding a 22.50 percent share.
