Port Qasim handles container, coal and rice vessels on May 7

KARACHI, May 7, 2026 — The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Thursday released its daily shipping operations report, detailing vessel movements at the country’s second-largest seaport over the past 24 hours.

The authority updates the shipping operations report every day at 8:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT) to facilitate importers, exporters, shipping agents and other stakeholders in the maritime sector.

According to the latest report, three vessels sailed from Port Qasim during the reporting period, including cargo ships carrying rice, coal and containerized goods.

The vessel M.V-ELFRIED departed from the FAP terminal carrying 8,500 metric tons of rice. Another vessel, M.V-PM HAYA BUSA II, sailed from the PIBT terminal with a coal consignment of 59,519 metric tons.

Meanwhile, container vessel M.V-HANSA EUROPE departed from QT2-II terminal after completing its operations.

On the berthing side, container vessel M.V-MSC BRIANNA V arrived at QT2-I terminal for handling container cargo operations. The vessel was managed by MSC Pakistan.

Another vessel, M.V-NORTHERN GUARD, also berthed at QICT-VII terminal during the reporting period.

Port Qasim plays a key role in Pakistan’s trade and logistics sector by handling imports and exports of containers, coal, petroleum products, LNG, chemicals and agricultural commodities through its specialized terminals.

Maritime industry officials said regular vessel activity at Port Qasim reflects the continued flow of trade and industrial cargo amid growing economic and commercial activity in the country.
