Samsung Boosts Galaxy AI Languages for Global Users

Samsung Electronics unveiled exciting news today, announcing the expansion of its Galaxy AI language offerings with the inclusion of three new languages—Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian—and three additional dialects—Australian English, Cantonese, and Canadian French.

This enhancement brings Samsung’s Galaxy AI language support to a total of 16 languages and dialects, opening up a world of possibilities for Galaxy users across the globe.

The move underscores Samsung’s commitment to democratizing mobile AI and breaking down language barriers for users worldwide. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating, “Committed to democratizing mobile AI for all, Galaxy AI’s language expansion this year will allow even more Galaxy users to communicate beyond language barriers on a scale that is completely unique to Samsung.”

In addition to the newly announced languages and dialects, Samsung has ambitious plans to introduce four more languages later this year, including Romanian, Turkish, Dutch, and Swedish, as well as traditional Chinese and European Portuguese. These advancements reflect Samsung’s continuous efforts to enhance user experiences and provide cutting-edge technology accessible to a broader audience.

The Galaxy AI features are designed to revolutionize how users interact with their devices:

Live Translate: Enables real-time voice and text translations during phone calls, facilitating seamless communication across languages.

Interpreter: Offers split-screen translation for live conversations, allowing users to read translations as they converse, bridging language gaps effortlessly.

Chat Assist: Provides context-aware suggestions for improving conversational tones, ensuring messages are conveyed accurately and politely.

Note Assist: Enhances productivity by generating AI-generated summaries, templates, and cover pages.

Transcript Assist: Uses advanced AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarize, and translate voice recordings.

Browsing Assist: Saves time by generating concise summaries of news articles and web pages, keeping users informed efficiently.

These features will be accessible through language packs downloadable from the Settings app, starting with a rollout in April and continuing over the coming months.

The expansion of Galaxy AI’s language capabilities represents a significant stride in Samsung’s mission to empower users with innovative and inclusive technology solutions. By embracing diverse languages and cultures, Samsung continues to lead the way in fostering global connectivity and communication through mobile AI.
