Amjad Zubair Tiwana Appointed as New FBR Chairman

Islamabad, August 2, 2023 – The federal government has made a significant appointment by selecting Amjad Zubair Tiwana as the new Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the apex tax agency in Pakistan. This decision was conveyed through an official notification issued by the Establishment Division.

Amjad Zubair Tiwana, currently serving as a BS 21 officer of IRS and holding the position of member IR Operations at FBR, has been chosen for this crucial role with the approval of the federal government. His appointment falls under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act 1973 and remains valid until further orders are issued.

In addition to his new role as FBR Chairman, the government has bestowed an additional responsibility upon Amjad Zubair Tiwana. He has been assigned the temporary additional charge of the post of Secretary Revenue Division, a move also made under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act 1973. This assignment is effective immediately and is expected to last for a period of three months or until a regular incumbent is posted, whichever occurs earlier.
