Honda unveils new e:Ny1 All-Electric SUV

Honda has unveiled its second all-electric vehicle, the e:Ny1, at a European media event in Germany.

The new model, designed to meet growing customer demand for all-electric B-segment SUVs, features a distinctive design and advanced technology, following Honda’s human-centred development philosophy.

The e:Ny1 boasts fun-to-drive dynamics, a smooth and refined ride, and intuitive versatility. The vehicle’s exterior aesthetic features a short front overhang, large wheels, and a wide track, while the new electric identity for Honda is highlighted by white ‘H’ badges on the vehicle, including the nose badge, wheel centre caps, and steering wheel. Inside, the e:Ny1 offers remarkable interior space and comfort, with a simple layout of easily accessible buttons, multiple storage options, and wireless charging, and an uncluttered dashboard topped by a large 15.1-inch touchscreen.

The vehicle is built on Honda’s newly-developed e:N Architecture F, which features a dedicated high rigidity body structure, a low centre of gravity, and carefully managed under-floor aerodynamics. The e:Ny1’s high-performance, lightweight three-in-one integrated power drive unit, electric motor, and gearbox generate a maximum output of 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque, while the high-capacity lithium-ion battery delivers up to 412 km of range and DC fast-charging capability that can go from 10 to 80% in just 45 minutes.

The new chassis, developed specifically for battery electric vehicles, offers improved torsional rigidity, with high-tensile steel used across 47% of the e:Ny1’s body. Together, these features combine to offer exceptional dynamic performance, comfort, and refinement for drivers seeking the latest in Honda’s EV technology.
