KCCI and NAVTTC Join Forces to Enhance Skills Training

KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) have inked a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to forge a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing demand-driven skills training across the country.

The MOU, signed by Chairperson NAVTTC, Gulmina Bilal Ahmed, and President KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, marks a significant milestone in fostering synergy between the two institutions. The signing ceremony, held at KCCI, saw the nomination of DG NAVTTC Sindh, Azizullah Chandio, and Chairman of KCCI’s Special Committee for MOU Implementation, Junaid Esmail Makda, as focal persons tasked with ensuring the full implementation of the MOU.

During the meeting, Senior Vice President Altaf A. Ghaffar, Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Barry, and KCCI Managing Committee Members were also present to witness the historic collaboration.

Chairperson NAVTTC, Gulmina Bilal, underscored the pivotal role of the MOU in imparting specialized training to youth, emphasizing the importance of aligning training programs with industry needs. She highlighted NAVTTC’s commitment to maximizing employment opportunities for young individuals through on-the-job training, thereby contributing to industry growth and economic prosperity.

President KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, reiterated KCCI’s unwavering support for NAVTTC’s initiatives and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in effectively training the youth to meet industry demands. He proposed organizing seminars or workshops at KCCI to familiarize the business community with NAVTTC’s services.

Junaid Esmail Makda, Chairman of KCCI’s Special Committee for MOU Implementation, elaborated on the key features of the MOU, emphasizing its focus on promoting skills training, improving qualifications, and providing on-the-job training and placement opportunities through KCCI’s extensive network.

The MOU signifies a strategic partnership aimed at bridging the gap between skills training and industry requirements, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of Pakistan. By leveraging each other’s strengths and resources, KCCI and NAVTTC are poised to empower the youth with relevant skills and propel the nation towards a prosperous future.
