PM Shehbaz Announces Public Holiday to Mark Youm-e-Takbeer

(KARACHI, PkRevenue.com) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday that May 28, 2024, will be a public holiday to commemorate Youm-e-Takbeer.

This day marks the historic moment when Pakistan conducted its nuclear tests in the Chagai hills of Balochistan, solidifying the nation’s defense capabilities.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the significance of Youm-e-Takbeer as a day that unites the Pakistani nation in a collective commitment to national defense. “Youm-e-Takbeer reminds the Pakistani nation of unity to make the defense of the country invincible,” he stated.

Reflecting on the events of 1998, the Prime Minister highlighted the unwavering resolve of the Pakistani people and leadership in the face of international pressure. “On this day in 1998, the entire nation decided for the integrity of the country, that there would be no compromise by accepting any external pressure on national defense,” he remarked.
