    FBR promotes Customs officers to BS-19

    ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday May 26, 2022 announced promotion of BS-18 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) to BS-19 as additional collector on regular basis.

    The FBR notified promotions of following officers into BS-19:

    The FBR said that the officers who are already working in BS-19 on OPS / on Acting Charge basis will actualize their promotion against these posts. Posting / Transfer orders of the remaining officers will be notified separately, and they shall actualize accordingly.

    *The officers mentioned at Sr.No.5 and 8 will actualize their promotions on return from deputation in the light of Para 5(5) of the Civil Servants Promotion (BPS-18 to BPS-21) Rules, 2019 issued vide SRO 1493(1)/2019 dated 03.12.2019.

    The Officers who were drawing performance allowance prior to issuance of this notification shall continue to draw the allowance on their promotion.

    The FBR said that the officers, if drawing performance allowance prior to issuance of this notification, will continue to draw the same after regular promotion to BS-19.

    The officers, already working in BS-19 on acting charge basis or on OPS basis as Additional Commissioner / Additional Director / Secretary FBR (HQ), Islamabad shall actualize their promotion at their present place of posting.

    Ms. Uzma Waqar, currently posted as Deputy Commissioner-IR, Corporate Tax Office, Lahore shall, upon promotion, actualize her promotion on the same post for which the post shall be upgraded to BS-19, in public interest, for as long as it is held by her till her transfer to a vacant BS-19 post after culmination of current fiscal year.

    The FBR congratulates the aforementioned officers on their regular promotion to BS-19.

    The FBR said that the officers will be on probation for a period of one year, extendable for further period, not exceeding one year, provided that if no order is issued by the day following the termination of probationary period, the appointment shall deemed to be held until further order.

    The officers already drawing performance allowance equal to 100 per cent of basic pay will continue to draw it on their promotion, the FBR added.

    They are allowed to actualize their promotion at their present place of posting against the available vacancies in BS-16.

    No promotion of IRS officers without asset declaration

    ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday issued last warning to BS-18 officers of Inland Revenue Service (IRS), who are in promotion zone, and said without asset declaration and performance evaluation reports (PERs) their names will not be considered for promotion.

    The FBR previously issued letter to the officers in the seniority list on December 15, 2021 for completion of their PERs and Declaration of Assets.

    The recent scrutiny of personal record of said officers revealed that majority of the officers have not yet submitted their PERs and Declaration of Assets for the period ending on June 30, 2021.

    The meeting of Departmental Selection Board (DSB) for promotion of Inland Revenue Service from BS-18 to BS-I9 is being planned by March 15, 2022 where cases of officer of IRS from seniority No.1 to seniority No.52 shall be considered for promotion by the Departmental Selection Board.

    All aforesaid BS-18 officers of IRS in the promotion zone are once again asked to ensure that their PERs and Declaration of Assets up to June 30, 2021 are submitted to the Board latest by February 28, 2022 positively.

    Completion of PERs and submission of Declaration of Assets are the pre-requisites for promotion to selection grades under Civil Servants Promotion (BS-18 to BS-21) Rules, 2019.

    The Board is trying hard to ensure that all eligible officers be considered for promotion in the forthcoming DSB meeting. However, your cooperation in timely completion of service record is equally essential.

    Any officer who fails to furnish the above documents by due date of February 28, 2022 will himself/herself be responsible for non-consideration/deferment/supersession, and no further reminder shall be issued in this regard.

    The Reporting/Countersigning Officer are also requested to immediately forward the PERs of the aforesaid officers to the Board (ERM Section) without any further delay.

    PCS officers BS-18 directed to submit asset declaration

    ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Wednesday directed the officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) in BS-18 to submit their declaration of assets for consideration in promotion to BS-19.

    The FBR in an official memo asked the PCS officers in BS-16 to complete their Performance Evaluation Reports (PERs) and Declaration of Assets. The scrutiny of personal record reveals that the majority of the officers have not yet submitted their PERs and Declaration of Assets for the period ending on June 30, 2021, the FBR added.

    The meeting of the Departmental Selection Board (DSB) for promotion of PCS from BS-18 to BS-19 is being planned by January 15, .2022 where cases of officer of PCS shall be considered for promotion by the Departmental Selection Board.

    All BS-18 officers of PCS in the promotion zone should submit PERs and Declaration of Assets up to 30.06.2021 to the Board latest by December 31, 2021 positively.

    Completion of PERs and submission of Declaration of Assets are the prerequisites for promotion to selection grades under Civil Servants Promotion (BS-18 to BS-21) Rules, 2019.
