FBR extends date for sales tax return filing up to February 25

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday extended the last date for filing monthly sales tax return up to February 25, 2022.

The revenue body in an official communication announced the extension in date of payment and submission of sales tax and federal excise return for the tax period January 2022.

According to the official note, the date of payment of sales tax and federal excise return, for all taxpayers, has been extended up to February 23, 2022.

Further, the date of submission of sales tax and federal excise return, for all taxpayers, has been extended up to February 25, 2022.

The FBR has extended the date for filing sales tax return on the issues highlighted by tax practitioners in the national sales tax returns.

Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) on February 14, 2022 sent a letter to the FBR chairman highlighting the errors in the sales tax return and demanded the date of filing of Sales Tax Return for the Tax Period December-2021 and January-2022 should be extended up to February 25, 2022.

The FBR, however, extended the date for filing the sales tax return only for the tax period January 2022.
