FBR Issues 2024 Tax Exemption List for Charitable Organizations

Karachi, January 12, 2024 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has unveiled a detailed list of charitable organizations eligible for tax exemption on their incomes during the tax year 2024.

The FBR emphasized that these exemptions are subject to the provisions of section 100C of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The following institutions, foundations, societies, boards, trusts, and funds are eligible for tax exemption:

(i) Al-Shifa Trust.

(ii) Bilquis Edhi Foundation.

(iii) Fatimid Foundation.

(iv) Pakistan Engineering Council.

(v) The Institution of Engineers.

(vi) Liaquat National Hospital Association.

(vii) Greenstar Social Marketing Pakistan (Guarantee) Limited.

(viii) Gulab Devi Chest Hospital.

(ix) Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund.

(x) National Academy of Performing Arts.

(xi) National Rural Support Programme.

(xii) Pakistan Bar Council.

(xiii) Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy.

(xiv) Aziz Tabba Foundation.

(xv) The Kidney Centre Post Graduate Training Institute.

(xvi) Pakistan Disabled Foundation.

(xvii) Forman Christian College.

(xviii) Habib University Foundation.

(xix) Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust Hospital.

(xx) Al-Khidmat Foundation.

(xxi) Sardar Trust Eye Hospital, Lahore.

(xxii) Akhuwat.

(xxiii) Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital.

(xxiv) SARMAYA-E-PAKISTAN LIMITED.

(xxv) Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore.

(xxvi) Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.

(xxvii) Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Pakistan (SOPREST).

(xxviii) Businessmen Hospital Trust.

(xxix) Baitussalam Welfare Trust.

(xxx) Alamgir Welfare Trust International.

(xxxi) Foundation University.

(xxxii) Burhani Qarzan Hasnan Trust.

(xxxiii) Saifee Hospital Karachi.

The FBR’s initiative aims to encourage philanthropy and support organizations contributing to social welfare, health, education, and various other sectors. Tax exemptions for these entities are part of the government’s strategy to promote and recognize the valuable contributions of charitable organizations in the country.
