Hyundai, Kia to Sponsor FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023

Hyundai Motor Group, comprising Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, has announced its sponsorship of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023â„¢ as the official mobility partners of FIFA. This collaboration comes as an extension of the Group’s partnership with FIFA through 2030, which was announced in May.

The focus of this year’s Women’s World Cup is the advancement and growth of women’s football, a cause that Hyundai Motor and Kia have been supporting through their sponsorships since 1999 and 2007, respectively.

Karl Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Group, expressed his excitement about the progress of women’s football and the Group’s involvement in the sport for the past 24 years. He stated that Hyundai Motor Group is committed to continuing its support for women’s football in the years to come.

As the official mobility partners of FIFA, Hyundai Motor and Kia will ensure smooth and efficient transportation operations during the tournament in Australia and New Zealand. Leveraging their extensive global distribution networks, they will provide a wide range of eco-friendly vehicles to transport teams, officials, VIPs, and guests between venues.

Hyundai Motor will supply a total of 371 vehicles (235 in Australia and 136 in New Zealand), with an official vehicle handover ceremony scheduled for July 3 at Stadium Australia in Sydney. Kia will provide 223 vehicles (119 in Australia and 104 in New Zealand), with its official vehicle handover ceremony taking place on the same day at Eden Park Centerfield in Auckland.

Additionally, Hyundai Motor and Kia vehicles will be showcased in brand activation areas at tournament stadiums. Hyundai Motor will display its all-new KONA and IONIQ 6 models, which are dedicated all-electric vehicles and the winners of the 2023 World Car of the Year award. Kia will showcase its dedicated all-electric models, the new EV9 and EV6 GT, which were awarded the 2023 World Performance Car of the Year.

Furthermore, Hyundai Motor displayed the iconic FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy at its brand site during National Fieldays on June 17 in Mystery Creek, New Zealand, for the enjoyment of fans. Hyundai Motor will also provide vehicles for the Trophy Tour, which will visit the cities of Hamilton, Wellington, and Dunedin.

As part of the sponsorship, Hyundai Motor Company will collaborate with the FIFA Museum for the fourth time. The exhibition, held at the FIFA Fan Festivalâ„¢ in Sydney throughout the tournament, will celebrate women in football and the development of the Women’s World Cup.

Kia, on the other hand, will promote the Women’s World Cup through its brand philosophy, “Movement that inspires,” with Kia Australia and Kia New Zealand conducting local marketing campaigns.

Moreover, Kia will organize the Official Match Ball Carrier (OMBC) program for all matches, partnering with local grassroots organizations to offer children a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to carry the official match ball onto the pitch alongside players and referees.

Additionally, Kia will launch a digital campaign highlighting various female football players as role models for children, aiming to inspire and develop future leaders in the women’s game.
