LCCI, ACCA team up to advance financial literacy among SMEs in Pakistan

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have teamed up to advance financial literacy among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan.

The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining their shared goal of increasing awareness, building capacity, and enabling knowledge exchange among SME professionals and entrepreneurs.

The MoU was signed by President LCCI, Kashif Anwar, and ACCA’s Head of Pakistan, Assad Hameed Khan. ACCA President, Joseph Owolabi, and senior management of both the organizations were also present at the signing ceremony.

The agreement aims to help build a robust tax culture, enhance financial literacy, and support initiatives that can benefit the SME sector in Pakistan. LCCI President, Kashif Anwar, praised the collaboration between the two organizations, saying that the partnership will strengthen the existing cooperation between LCCI and ACCA and support LCCI member organizations with their capacity building needs, particularly around taxation and financial acumen.

ACCA President, Joseph Owolabi, expressed his delight in formalizing the partnership with LCCI and supporting capacity building in Pakistan’s SME sector. He highlighted ACCA’s commitment to providing SMEs with the necessary tools and skills to navigate the complex financial landscape and make informed decisions underpinned by effective governance and driving sustainable growth.

Assad Hameed Khan, Head of ACCA Pakistan, emphasized the partnership’s potential to serve as a platform for SMEs to upskill and bolster their vital contribution to Pakistan’s economy. He stated that this collaboration will extend more opportunities for SMEs, benefiting businesses, individuals, and the entire economy.
