PM Kakar Facilitates Christmas, Calls for Religious Tolerance

Islamabad, December 25, 2023 – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar extended warm wishes to the Christian community on the joyous occasion of Christmas, emphasizing the importance of fostering religious tolerance and inter-faith harmony within Pakistan.

In a heartfelt message, he urged the nation to unite in the spirit of love, brotherhood, patience, and sacrifice.

“The Christian community is celebrating Christmas in Pakistan and across the world, and I, along with the entire nation, extend our heartfelt felicitations to our Christian brothers and sisters. Christmas embodies the values of love, brotherhood, patience, and sacrifice, which are indispensable for the development of a society,” remarked the Prime Minister.

Reflecting on the teachings of Hazrat Essa (AS), the Prophet of Allah, PM Kakar highlighted the profound impact of his message on humanity. Hazrat Essa (AS) imparted lessons of peace, brotherhood, tolerance, and forbearance, paving the way for human success. The Prime Minister underscored the enduring significance of these moral teachings as a guiding light for humanity.

Addressing the contemporary challenges of religious intolerance on the global stage, PM Kakar stressed the need to embrace Hazrat Essa’s message of compassion, affection, tolerance, and fraternity. He expressed concern about the rising wave of religious intolerance and urged collective efforts to make the world a bastion of peace, ultimately eradicating hatred.

Drawing attention to the symbolic representation of non-Muslims, including the Christian community, in Pakistan’s flag, PM Kakar commended their vital role in the nation’s progress. He acknowledged their contributions across various sectors, such as defense, judiciary, arts, sports, and education, which brought pride to the nation.

Highlighting the constitutional safeguards for non-Muslims, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing complete religious freedom and protection to its citizens. He emphasized the responsibility of the state and every citizen to safeguard places of worship and ensure equal rights for all.

“The challenges faced by Pakistan can only be overcome when we rise above distinctions of color, ethnicity, and religion. As a united nation, we must work tirelessly for the progress of the country,” asserted PM Kakar. He called on every citizen to pledge, on this Christmas occasion, to make Pakistan a model of religious tolerance and brotherhood, playing a pivotal role in steering the country through difficulties.

“Pakistan is our home, and together, let us vow to transform it into a beacon of religious tolerance and unity,” concluded the Prime Minister, fostering a sense of collective responsibility for the nation’s progress and harmony.
