Islamabad, November 23, 2023 – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has called upon the media to actively participate in creating public awareness regarding the government’s ongoing initiatives, particularly the drive against smuggling and power theft.
During a meeting with a delegation from the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) on Thursday, Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the importance of media in informing the public about the outcomes of these initiatives and their positive impact on the common man.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Kakar stressed the pivotal role of the media in promoting good governance and raising awareness among the masses. Referring to the media as the fourth pillar of the state, he emphasized its critical contribution to society’s progress and the intellectual development of the people.
The Prime Minister also used the occasion to shed light on the government’s strategy for economic stability, formulated under the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Addressing concerns within the newspaper industry, Prime Minister Kakar assured the APNS delegation of the government’s support in resolving pertinent issues. He specifically directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to expedite the payment of advertisement dues owed to newspapers. Caretaker Information and Broadcasting Minister Murtaza Solangi, Federal Information Secretary, and other senior officers were also present at the meeting.
