Islamabad, April 12, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has sounded the alarm, forecasting heavy rainfall across multiple regions of Balochistan, signaling potential risks of flooding and thunderstorms.
With Quetta already experiencing a modest 1 mm of precipitation, the PMD anticipates a significant weather system looming over the province.
A spokesperson from the PMD highlighted the impending weather conditions, warning residents of various areas within Balochistan to brace themselves for showers. Beyond Quetta, localities such as Pishin, Muslim Bagh, and Ziarat are expected to witness rainfall, with more substantial downpours anticipated in Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musa Khel, Kohlu, Sibi, and Jhal Magsi. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by heavy showers are forecasted in Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, and Kalat.
In light of these forecasts, residents are strongly urged to take precautionary measures to safeguard their safety and property. With the looming threat of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, individuals are advised to remain indoors whenever possible, refraining from unnecessary outdoor activities or travel.
