Karachi, January 11, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released the shipping activity report for Thursday, January 11, 2024, providing crucial information to facilitate stakeholders and keep them abreast of the maritime operations.

Yesterday, three prominent vessels – Kyparisia, X-Press Bardsey, and Kang Hong – carrying containers and coal, successfully berthed at the Container Terminal and Bulk Terminal of Port Qasim. Additionally, a container ship named ‘APL South-Hampton’ arrived at the outer-anchorage area of Port Qasim on the morning of Thursday.

Over the last 24 hours, a total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths. Four of them, namely Maersk Detroit, X-Press Bardsey, MSC Desiree, and Al-Saad, departed the port on Thursday morning (January 10th). Simultaneously, three more ships – Curacao, Blue Bird, and Kyparisia – are anticipated to sail on the same day.

The cargo handling statistics reveal a substantial volume of 221,483 tonnes, comprising 156,177 tonnes of imported cargo and 65,306 tonnes of exported cargo. This cargo was transported in 5,463 containers, with 2,013 TEUs dedicated to imports and 3,450 TEUs allocated for exports.

As of now, four ships are positioned at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, the containers ship ‘APL South-Hampton’ is expected to take berths at QICT on Thursday. Another container ship, ‘Big Breezy,’ is scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday, indicating a continuous flow of maritime activities.
