Rolex introduces Yacht-Master 42 timepiece made of RLX titanium

Rolex has recently introduced Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 – a master timepiece made of RLX titanium.

The Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 comes in a 42mm size and is available in one captivating design: RLX Titanium.

The recently launched Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 crafted from RLX titanium is both lightweight and durable, making it the perfect companion for individuals who value unrestricted mobility.

With its exceptional watchmaking precision, this timepiece is ideal for the challenging conditions of competitive sailing, enhancing overall sporting performance.

Rolex has released its second timepiece made of RLX titanium, the Yacht-Master 42, following the Oyster Perpetual Deepsea Challenge. This reaffirms the brand’s commitment to prioritizing lightness as a crucial quality in their products.

The Yacht-Master collection now features RLX titanium for the first time. Rolex has chosen a grade 5 titanium alloy, known for its impressive mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion, to create this lightweight metal.

By using this material for both the case and bracelet, the weight of the watch has been reduced by approximately one-third compared to a similar steel watch. However, the complexity of working with RLX titanium has led to the implementation of special production processes.

The Yacht-Master 42 is a testament to Rolex’s mastery in finishing techniques, with a skillful combination of polished high-sheen and technical satin finishes. The resulting interplay of textures and light highlights the polished surface of the crown guard and the lustrous high-sheen on the lugs’ top edges, which contrast against the technical satin finishing’s pronounced grain visible on both the case and bracelet.

Remaining true to the original 2019 model, this new version features a bidirectional rotatable bezel with a Cerachrom insert in matte black ceramic. The bezel includes raised and polished numerals and graduations, with the first 15 minutes graduated minute-by-minute for precise time intervals. Additionally, the knurled edge of the bezel provides a secure grip for easy turning.

The Yacht-Master 42’s Oyster bracelet is crafted from RLX titanium, featuring a technical satin finish that extends to the sides of the links and the Oysterlock safety clasp cover’s edges.

The bracelet’s Easylink comfort extension link enables the wearer to adjust the length by approximately 5mm with ease. Additionally, ceramic inserts inside the links enhance the bracelet’s flexibility and durability when worn on the wrist.
