Samsung Unveils One UI 6 Watch with Galaxy AI Features

Samsung has officially announced the upcoming release of One UI 6 Watch, its custom interface for smartwatches, which will integrate Galaxy AI features.

This update will be layered on top of what is presumed to be Wear OS 5, recently introduced by Google. The new OS aims to enhance the user experience with advanced health insights and motivational tools.

One of the standout features of One UI 6 Watch is the Galaxy AI integration, designed to provide users with “more comprehensive health insights” and “motivational encouragement to improve daily wellness,” according to Samsung.

Central to this is the Energy Score, which offers a detailed understanding of one’s daily condition by analyzing personal health metrics. These metrics include average sleep time, sleep consistency, wake time consistency, previous day activity, sleeping heart rate, and heart rate variability, reminiscent of Garmin’s Body Battery feature.

Additionally, the new Wellness Tips feature will offer personalized insights, tips, and guidance tailored to the user’s specific health goals. The update will also introduce enhanced health algorithms and more advanced tracking tools, delivering “holistic, personalized, and actionable insights when combined with AI.”

Sleep tracking capabilities are set to improve significantly with an enhanced sleep AI algorithm, providing deeper sleep insights. New sleep indicators will offer detailed analyses of sleep quality, considering factors such as movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate. These additions complement existing metrics like snoring hours, blood oxygen levels, and sleep cycles.

For fitness enthusiasts, the update introduces detailed metrics for Aerobic and Anaerobic Threshold Heart Rate Zones for runners, Functional Threshold Power metrics for cyclists, and a new Workout Routine feature. This feature seamlessly transitions between various exercises for a personalized workout experience. The new Race feature will allow users to compare their current performance with past records on the same routes for outdoor running and cycling.

One UI 6 Watch is slated for release later this year, with a limited beta program commencing in June. The update will be available for Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Galaxy Watch5, Galaxy Watch5 Pro, Galaxy Watch6, and Galaxy Watch6 Classic.
