Karachi, February 11, 2024 – In a bid to strengthen its human resource foundation, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced the initiation of hiring for assistant directors under the Officers Training Scheme (SBOTS) – 26th Batch.

The prestigious national institution is actively encouraging applications from self-motivated and result-oriented youth domiciled in Sindh (Rural), Baluchistan, Ex-FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).

The positions will be based in Karachi.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must possess a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree with 16 years of education, with at least 60 percent marks (or equivalent) from HEC recognized Pakistani institutions in various fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Statistics, Data Sciences, Actuarial Sciences, Accounting, Computer Sciences, Information Systems and Technology, Mathematics, Human Resource Management, Agriculture Management, Islamic Banking & Finance, Law, Media & Culture Studies, Philosophy, and Physics. Applicants with foreign degrees must provide an equivalence certificate from HEC.

Batches graduating until 30 June 2024 are eligible to apply with a provisional transcript until the 7th semester (for bachelors) or 3rd semester (for masters), subject to proof of 16 years of education with the required percentage/CGPA.

Domicile: Sindh (Rural), Baluchistan, Ex-FATA, Gilgit Baltistan & AJK.

Age: Maximum 26 years as of the date of the newspaper advertisement, February 11, 2024. Age limit is relaxed by three years for female candidates, transgender persons, candidates from other religion, and those from Baluchistan, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, and areas previously part of FATA.

Application and Testing Procedure:

Interested candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are required to visit the SBP website (https://www.sbp.org.pk/careers/status.asp) for the online application process. The last date for submission of applications is February 26, 2024. Applications submitted in person or through e-mail will not be entertained.

Selection Procedure:

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a written test, followed by a selection process involving group discussion/psychometric testing and a panel interview. Candidates must bring original educational/professional documents, an Equivalence Certificate from HEC (for foreign qualifications), domicile, and CNIC.

Pre-Induction Training:

Selected candidates will undergo Applied Focused Theoretical Training (residential) at the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF), Islamabad. Upon successful completion, candidates will be appointed as Assistant Directors (OG-2) at SBP, Karachi.

Compensation Package:

During the training period, trainees will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 41,000. Upon successful completion of training, Assistant Directors (OG-2) will be offered a consolidated monthly monetized salary of Rs 82,000, along with other benefits in the OG-2 salary scale as per Bank rules.
