Chen Yuxi Makes History with Platform Diving Hat-Trick

In a remarkable display of skill and talent, 17-year-old Chinese diver Chen Yuxi has made history at the World Aquatics Championships.

Chen has become the first diver ever to secure the women’s 10-meter platform title for three consecutive world championships, leaving spectators awe-struck and even surprising the Olympic champion, 16-year-old Quan Hongchan.

Chen and Quan, who had already showcased their exceptional synchronicity by retaining their synchronized title earlier in the competition, demonstrated a level of excellence that captivated both the audience and the judges.

Right from the beginning, Chen dominated the competition with her near-flawless execution of dives, earning an impressive total of 457.85 points.

Despite her brilliance, Quan, who had outperformed Chen in the qualifying rounds, fell slightly short due to some minor errors in the first two rounds. Nevertheless, she secured a well-deserved second place with a score of 445.60 points.

After her breathtaking victory at the Olympic Games, Quan has become a superstar in China. However, she expressed disappointment with her performance, stating, “I would give myself a 6 out of 10. I am not satisfied with my performance. There were some small errors. I failed to control the splash well in the second dive.”
